For work deck system manufacturers, systems suppliers of logistical solutions or carpenter's workshops, the SMS profile is a comfortable basic module. It can be used, for example, as a basis for designing assembly work decks, conveyors and machinery.

Suspa develops new installation profiles with integrated spindle motor system (SMS)

With the Movotec installation profiles SMS-I-40x80 and SMS-B-45x90, Suspa introduces two new modular systems solutions for height adjustment. This highly compact, electromechanical height adjustment system is totally unique on the market. What makes it different? The spindle drives are integrated into the aluminum installation profiles. This allows the SMS actuators to be built right into plants and work deck systems as height-adjustable lifting elements.

Based on the Movotec SMS height adjustment system (SMS, spindle-motor-system,) Suspa has developed two profile lifting systems. For users, the new Movotec models SMS-I-40x80 and SMS-B-45x90 are even more comfortable in assembly handling, because the SMS actuators are integrated right into the installation profiles. This allows the SMS lifting columns to be built in directly and easily. Manufacturers of plants and work deck systems have the advantage of being able to immediately install finished profiles with height adjustment already integrated. This eliminates the need for the time-consuming installation work of screwing the actuators onto the rigid supports.

The silver anodized aluminum profiles have a diameter of 29 mm for receiving the SMS internal assembly group with the spindle drive. The modular system is delivered complete with profile and already integrated Movotec SMS lifting system. With standard dimensions of 45 x 90 mm and 40 x 80 mm, the systems are compatible with many commonly sold profiles and fastening systems such as angle brackets or direct connectors.

Compact, stable, variable, robust

The installation profiles are highly compact with dimensions of just 40 by 80 mm or 45 by 90 mm. Both installation profiles feature a flat side without pre-cut grooves. This is usually the external side, which is not intended for any add-ons. This design results in a very compact,
stable installation space. Many other lifting systems, meanwhile, are much larger – automatic adjustment solutions can require up to twice the installation space.

Another special feature of the SMS installation profile is the cable outlet in the side of the profile. This outlet is designed such that the customer can decide for themselves whether the cable should be led out to the right or left groove. This keeps the cable out of the way. If the installation profile is used in work tables, for example, the tabletop can be connected directly to the profile without trapping the cable.

The two installation profiles with integrated SMS are available in different vertical stroke versions and lengths for different applications in plants and work decks. For a vertical stroke of 150 mm, the length is 510 mm in retracted position and 660 mm in extended position. For a 200 mm vertical stroke version, the length is 560 mm in retracted position and 760 mm in extended position. The 300 mm stroke version is 660 mm long in retracted position and 960 mm long in extended position. With a vertical stroke of 400 mm, the retracted length is 760 mm, and the extended length is 1160 mm.

The SMS installation profile from Suspa boasts excellent performance. The integrated SMS lifting system allows it to move a maximum lifting and holding load of 150 kg and work at two different speeds. At full load (150 kg per actuator,) the lifting column moves 8 mm/second. Accordingly, at half load or 75 kg, it moves at twice the speed or 16 mm/second. As an integrated systems solution, it optimizes the installation process for manufacturers of work deck systems and plants, because the SMS lifting system is built right into the profile.
