method of operation
The Varilock locking gas pressure spring has a piston that divides the inner space of the pressure tube into two working chambers. In the connecting duct between the two chambers is a valve that prevents the piston from going all the way through. The result is that the Varilock can be locked in any stroke position. The release pin on the piston rod must be activated to open the valve. With the locking gas or gas pressure spring a distinction is made between the rigid and the elastic locking gas spring.
